A good stew to serve in a pumpkin?

I went to a party years ago. The host made a stew that I wasn't too fond of, but she put it in a pumpkin to serve. I thought it looked really cool! Now our first Halloween party with my son and I want to do the same, but I dont know what kind of soup/stew to make to put in it. Any advice?
