I have a judgement against, HELP?

November 12, weekend 2006 I borrowed my boyfriend's car to go and visit my twin sister in Norfolk, VA. On my way home I got into a wreck. ( There was a van in front of me and I was a good half a car length behind him. He put on his left blinker and got into the other lane and slightly turned down a dirt road to the left. I kept going straight and the driver of the van done a U-turn, to turn down the paved road that was to the right of us. He hit me in the driver side of the car. The car was totaled I gave a statment of what happened. I was not given a ticket the 16 year old boy was given a ticket for improper u-turn.) The fall of 2008 i recevied a letter in the mail that I was being suied for the damages to the van and that my license would also be suspended until the debt was paid. I never gotten anyting in the mail about a court date or anything. Which is no excuse, however, come to find out the reason I am being suied is because there was no insurance on the car I borrowed although I had an insurance car that looked to be active. Now, I can't work to make money to pay because I can't drive. No one will help me and I don't know where to start. i have called the collections and asked to be put on a payment paln and they say I have to pay at least half before they will do anything. The debt in the beginning was $4300, now it is at $6100. How can I at least get my licese reinstated if nothing else. I can't worka nd make money unless I can drive to work to make the money. UGH It's so stressful and I have cried about this so many times. I just don't know what to do.
