Can i mount my 47inch Lcd on a faux siding panel fireplace?

I am in a process of moving to a new place were there is a fireplace but the whole top of the fireplace is faux siding panel (which is not real wood or brick).... can i mount my tv on that? or will it fall off? pretty much thats the only place i would like to set it up
